US rockers Linkin Park formed in 1996 and their debut album ‘Hybrid Theory’, released in 2000, was a big moment in the nu-metal movement of the early noughties, selling more than 4.8 million copies in its debut year – making it the best-selling album of 2001. The band are now returning toDownload Festival, having last headlined Donington in 2011, to play it in full, including the four hit singles it spawned: ‘Crawling‘, ‘Papercut‘, ‘In The End‘ and ‘One Step Closer‘.

Linkin Park released their fifth studio album, ‘Living Things‘, in June of last year and are believed to be working on their follow up, tentatively set for release in late 2014.

Yesterday, Avenged Sevenfold and Rob Zombie were named as the first two acts for the 2014Download Festival line-up.

Download Festival 2014 takes place at Donington Park, Derby, Leicestershire from 13-15 June.
Download Festival tickets are available now at early bird prices for a strictly limited time. They will remain at the cheaper rate until 9am Friday 8th November 2013, before they increase to 2013 prices for a limited amount of time.
